Register Now for the IC Hub’s Virtual June Member Meeting

Paul Sheehan, Ph.D., ARPA-H Program Manager, will join the Investor Catalyst Hub’s monthly virtual member meeting on Thursday, June 20, 1:00 p.m. ET to discuss his portfolio and his scientific area of expertise. Dr. Sheehan joined ARPA-H in February 2023 from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where his research focused on leveraging developments in synthetic biology to detect and address threats to human health.

Make Connections During the IC Hub’s Virtual SPOKES Networking Session

The Investor Catalyst Hub will host a virtual SPOKES networking event on Thursday, June 27, 12 p.m.-1 p.m. ET. This event will feature three breakout rooms offering insights from spokes within the categories of startups, health care providers, and investors. Spokes can customize their experience by self-selecting the breakout rooms they’d like to attend. IC Hub Spokes Portal Biotechnologies and Mass General Brigham Come Together for Joint Reception

Last month, IC Hub Director Chelsea Schiller gave remarks during a special reception co-hosted by spokes Portal Biotechnologies and Mass General Brigham’s Gene and Cell Therapy Institute (GCTI) at Bayer Co.Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After connecting and identifying synergies between their work, the spokes organized an event bringing together nearly 10 IC Hub spokes and members of the local cell and gene therapy innovation community to combine networks and catalyze further collaboration among community members.

Can Your Organization Provide Access to Building Facilities for ARPA-H BREATHE Efficacy Trials?

ARPA-H is looking for Technical Area 3 (TA3) performers for the Building Resilient Environments for Air and Total HEalth (BREATHE) program! The program envisions smart building systems that monitor and respond to changes in indoor air quality. The ideal TA3 performers should be connected to a network of buildings and/or facilities that can be accessed for the integration of technologies with interventions during field trial demonstrations. BREATHE requires performers to form teams to achieve the goals of the program; interested organizations for all technical areas should submit a teaming profile to connect with organizations with complementary capabilities. Solution summaries are due June 21 at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Help ARPA-H UPGRADE Hospital Cybersecurity

ARPA-H is seeking performer teams for its latest program, Universal Patching and Remediation for Autonomous Defense (UPGRADE)—a cybersecurity effort to create tools for information technology teams to better defend the hospital environments they are tasked with securing. UPGRADE is especially interested in reaching hospitals with 150 beds or fewer; ideal respondents are responsible for IT and information security for their organizations.
